Jason's New Rig

To make a long story short.....When Jason was coming back from his hunting trip to ND on Saturday afternoon, his Jetta failed him around Fergus Falls. They couldn't get it working so it was towed to a VW dealership in Fargo and Dad took him there to rent a car and he drove back. Mom and Dad went to get the car on Tuesday and it started fine the first time, but not the second time after they got done shopping. So, it was towed back to the VW dealership. Finally, they go up again on Thursday and bring it back to their house. They start driving it to Hutchinson to meet us to trade for the rental so they can take that back and the check engine light comes on.....we drive it back to WI like that. Needless to say, with all the other problems it has had and the money we have put into it, this was the last straw and unfortunate for it...it got traded in. Have I ever mentioned not to buy a Jetta????

Yes, this time I did get to go along!! We made a quick trip (as I only had one day off) to go to Hutchinson to see Greta when she was only 3 days old! As you can see, she is very tiny....especially with Jason!

Duck Hunting

Jason was very fortunate to be able to go to ND to go duck hunting with Nathan and one of his friends. Unfortunately, I was not able to go see MY family! I couldn't get off work on Saturday. Here are a few pictures of them. Certainly doesn't look like fun to me, but I guess he enjoys it!

Flying a Kite!

This is Jason flying a kite. He has had it for quite some time, but this is the first I had seen it up and going. Well, it was up and going at the moment! I don't think it was quite windy enough. It has two handles to control. He did better after about 50 nosedives (and me picking it up!). I, on the other hand, got it stuck in the trees on my second try!

Just to show you what some rain can do to grass! We had a little too much rain, but you can definitely see the difference!

We had some landscaping done on our backyard as we have had some water problems in the spring or when it rains a lot. We decided to put rock in that bed and then added some more perrenials to the other end of the yard. As you can see, it's been VERY dry here lately. The grass isn't very green. We have been trying to water more lately and it's a bit better, but still not lush!

I've always loved the window seat when flying and find it interesting to see what the country looks like from above. This time when flying into SFO, they said we were going to be close to another plane, but not to worry as we were going to be landing on different runways! I didn't realize how close we would get!

Well, we made a quick trip to San Francisco to go to Jason's cousin's wedding. Neither of us had been there before, so we took the opportunity to do a small amount of sight seeing also! Can't do much when you fly out there on Friday and return on Sunday and also have to go to a rehearsal dinner and the wedding but we managed to see pretty much everything we wanted to!
